FREE SPECTACLES
The Adoptee Sri Lanka Belgium donated 1000 used spectacles and 700 pieces of toys in January 2006. The spectacles were calibrated and distributed free at several eye camps conducted by the SLBA in remote village areas. The toys were distributed among the Children in Vanamee Kanda and other tsunami affected areas in down south. We have received used spectacles from Belgium on several occasions which were distributed in the eye camps. It is interesting to notice that the very first social service project launched by late Mr. Gaston Dillen in Sri Lanka was one to distribute free spectacles.
