Drinking water Projects promote by Sri Lanka Belgium Association
In addition to the establishment and management of the pre - schools and scholarship programs for schools at village level, Sri Lanka Belgium Association has opened up several drinking water projects at the dry zone of the island. Monetary assistance and guidance is received from Adoptie Sri Lanka Belgium VZW for all these projects.
The first drinking water project was opened on 09th April 2017 at Nawa Mahasen pura in Welikanda in Polonnaruwa district.
The second project was declared open on 04th April 2018 at Kajuwatta in Aralaganwila in Polonnaruwa district. Large number of people attended the function. This project will provide purified drinking water for over 250 families in this area. A coconut plant each was given to all the villagers present. The Chief priest delivered dhamma desana and the officials of Sri Lanka Belgium Association addressed the gathers. A plaque was installed showing the assistance from Adoptie Sri Lanka Belgium VZW.
The details of the project were explained by the member of Sri Lanka Belgium association.
Every one in kajuwatta was given a coconut plant on the day of opening the drinking water project.
